Korte samenvatting van mijn notities van de uitleg van de spaanse architect Joan Busquets over zijn ontwerp van de spoorzone. IHE gebouw 29 juni 2009.
Professor Joan Busquets:
Delft the inner city is forced to accept the car in the 20e century. The historical inner city is not designed for the car.
The car has to change. Also the way the car is used. Lukely the possension of the car in Delft grows only by 1% per year.
Get rid of use of the car, not the possession. The high speed train is the mean of long distance tranportation. The high speed train is faster than the plane.
The Delft station is facing to the city. The houses along the Phoenixstraat where build when the car was not excistend. By puting the train underground we connect the former walled town with the west expansion on one level.
We want water to by used. Water engages activity's. Bolwerk was protected gate. Rebuild it quite easely. Bicycles pass around. Space people can sit and enjoy.
In the spoorzone is priority to pedestrians and bycicles. The storage of cars and bycicles is verticaly organized. The onderground station uses natural light.
The Westvest is part of the former city wall. Totaal get rid of the trafic. Bicycle on the level of the water. The Ireneboulevard is some trafic in the middle. Two lanes for cars.
In the Engelsestraat will all the cars park underground. In the middle on the traintube is a linear park of a system of gardens.
The future of the south face is to see in the power of the painting 'Gezicht op Delft'. Ensuring the future by connecting flows.
The new bridge connecting the Westvest water to the Kolk must also bee a major place. A place where you like to stay.
Thinking of the bright future, we don't know what this is. We create conditions. Delft is already historical.
